White Sox Listening to Offers For Todd Frazier

MLB: Chicago White Sox at Texas Rangers
The Chicago White Sox have made it known that they will be listening to offers on many high profile trade assets this winter. Amongst that list are starters Chris Sale and Jose Quintana, utility man Brett Lawrie, outfielder Melky Cabrera, and reliever David Robertson. According to Ken Rosenthal, you can add one more name to that list as word came out on Wednesday that the White Sox are reportedly listening to trade offers for third baseman Todd Frazier.

A rival executive told Rosenthal, “they’ll listen on everyone, but I think they’ll focus on trying to move the short term guys first.” Frazier would fall into the category of a short-term guy, as he is set to hit free agency after this upcoming season.

The thirty-yeard old slugger hit a career high 40 HR’s in his first season with the White Sox. On the other hand though, he hit to a career low .225 batting average. Although the average numbers are a concern, finding a guy with power like Frazier’s is vey hard. Frazier may be a fit as a good number five or six hitter, delivering runs for a team with a solid top half of the order.

Some teams who may be interested in the slugging third baseman include the San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees, and New York Mets.
