The Mets and Nationals are set to square off in the rubber game of their final meeting of the regular season. The Mets will send out young diamond in the rough, Robert Gsellman (2-1, 3.92 ERA). Gsellman has been filing in for the Mets injury plagued rotation as of late, and has turned in some solid performances. The Nationals will turn to righty Tanner Roark (14-8, 2.85 ERA) who has a 1.88 ERA in 14 1/3 innings against the Mets this season.
The Nats took the first game of the series on Monday when they got to young Mets starter Rafael Montero early and often, tattooing him for six runs in two innings. Last night the Mets held on in 10 innings after giving up three runs in the ninth. Rookie T.J. Rivera hit a solo shot, the first of his career, in the 10th to give the Mets a 4-3 lead.

Murphy has flat out killed his former team this year. Coming into today Murphy is hitting .411 with six doubles and seven home runs against the Mets this season. If he records a hit on Wednesday he will have hit safely in all 19 meetings with the Mets this season.
Granderson has been heating up as of late, in his last seven games Grandy has seven home runs and fifteen RBI’s. Curtis will look to continue this little streak as he faces off with Tanner Roark who he has had some success against. In his career, Granderson is hitting .304 with four doubles against Roark.
